Netizens Say Melon Charts Lost Credibility Amidst Another Recent Sajaegi Accusation Involving Lim JaeHyun

Starting with NILO, Shaun, then Woody, a new obscure singer known as Lim JaeHyun has recently been on the radar’s of netizens, as it wasn’t just his single ‘If There Was Practice In Love’ that was rising on the charts, but also accusations of sajaegi.

The song was released on September 25th, 2018, and has taken the number one spot as of May 20th, surpassing BTS and TWICE.

While there have been songs that reached number one, even if wasn’t sung by popular idol groups, netizens have been saying that there wasn’t enough evidence to suggest that the song actually gained momentum by accumulating listeners. While it’s true that Monday Kiz member Lee JinSung did cover the song and upload it on YouTube, netizens have also been saying that one YouTube cover alone wasn’t enough to beat out two mega K-Pop idol groups.

And speaking of credibility, netizens have also been talking about how they have stopped using Melon’s service because they feel like it isn’t the best representation of chart performances.
